Org Chart
The Org Chart, introduced in the Phase 4 release, visualises your company's reporting lines as an interactive tree. It lives under the new Organization menu in the sidebar, alongside Departments (which moved there from its previous location).

The chart is built entirely from each employee's Reports To field — so keeping reporting lines up to date is what keeps the chart accurate.
Viewing the chart
Open Organization > Org Chart. Each employee appears as a card showing their photo (or initials), name, an Admin/Employee role tag, and their status. Managers' cards show a count of their direct reports and an expand/collapse button, so you can drill into or roll up any branch of the tree. Wide organisations scroll horizontally.

Only active employees appear in the chart.
What each person sees
The chart adapts to who is viewing it:
| Viewer | What they see |
|---|---|
| HR / Admin | The entire organisation, including employees with no manager assigned |
| Manager | Their own team's subtree, with the chain of managers above them |
| Employee | The reporting chain from the top of the company down to themselves |
Managing reporting lines
HR admins see a second tab, Manage Reporting Lines, with a searchable table of employees:

- Search for an employee by name.
- In the Reports To column, pick their manager from the dropdown (or leave as — No manager —).
- Click Save on that row. Changes are saved per row — a hint shows how many rows have unsaved changes.
The system prevents circular reporting lines — you can't make two people report to each other, directly or through a chain. If you try, you'll see "Cannot assign manager: this would create a reporting cycle."
You can also set the same Reports To field on the employee's record in Employee Management.
The Reports To field drives more than the chart: when HR schedules a performance review cycle, each employee's reviewer is automatically assigned from their reporting line. Employees without a manager are flagged during review cycles.
People (AI view)
Phase 5 added a second way to view the same reporting structure, alongside the AI agents. It is read-only — reporting lines are still changed from the Org Chart or from the employee record.
Each person shows their Position, Role, Manager and Direct reports, and the chart has its own navigation controls:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Zoom in / Zoom out | Step the chart's scale |
| Fit the whole chart | Zooms out far enough to show the full structure |
| Search | Jumps to a person |
If the chart cannot load, a Status message appears with Retry.
This view reads the same reporting lines as the Org Chart above. Use whichever you're already in — but make edits from the Org Chart, since this view does not change reporting lines.
