Dashboard
When you sign in to ShiftCare HR you land on Hera, your AI assistant and starting point for the day. From here you can ask questions in plain language, see a summary of your workspace, and jump straight to the items that need your attention.
Hera
Hera opens with a greeting and a message box where you can type a question or request. Suggested prompts appear beneath it to give you a starting point.
Hera adapts to your role:
- Administrators and HR see a workspace-wide view, with organisation-level information and shortcuts.
- Employees see a personal view, focused on their own information and tasks.
Alongside the message box you'll find:
- A summary of key figures for your workspace
- Items needing attention, each with an option to ask Hera about it directly
- Your chat history, so you can revisit an earlier conversation or start a new one
Hera is actively being developed, so the suggestions and summary cards you see may change between releases.
The landing page in Phase 5
Phase 5 rebuilt this page around the AI agents. The message box is still there — its prompt now reads "Employees, leave, policies, contracts — just type…" — but the panels around it are new:
| Panel | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Needs your attention / Needs your sign-off | Agent proposals waiting on a decision. When there are none it reads "Nothing needs your attention right now." |
| Agents on duty | Which agents are currently switched on and working |
| Agent activity | "Every agent action, from the audit trail." — a running record of what the agents have done |
| Headcount by department | "Live from the employee directory." |
| Quick actions | Shortcuts to common tasks |
| Browse agents | Opens the agent dashboard, where agents are enabled and opened |
A Powered by marker sits in the header; hovering it reads "This company has connected Hera to Xagent".
If you still have onboarding steps of your own outstanding, a Finish your onboarding card appears near the top of this page, above the panels. It shows a progress bar and lists what is left — documents to sign, documents to upload, and the onboarding questions grouped as one Answer Questions row — each with a Start → link. Open onboarding → in the card header goes to the same checklist on the Onboarding tab of your profile. The card is shown only while something is outstanding, so once you have finished you will never see it.
This panel is the point of the redesign. Rather than hunting for work, you land on a queue of agent proposals to accept or decline — the same items listed in the approval Inbox.
If a panel cannot load you'll see "Couldn't load the queue." or "Couldn't load agent activity." with a Try again action. Neither means anything was changed in your HR data.
- AI Agents — the agents, the Inbox and the audit trail
- Ask Hera — the full conversational view behind the message box
- What's New: Phase 5 — the release summary
Dashboard views
The classic dashboard view brings together your headline workforce numbers and lists in one place - employee totals, who's on leave, employment status breakdown, departments, upcoming birthdays, recent announcements, and your employee list.
For a breakdown of each element and what it shows, see Dashboard Features.
Finding your way around
The left-hand navigation groups the product by area. Where you go next depends on the task:
| To do this | Go to |
|---|---|
| View or add employees | Employees |
| Manage departments and reporting lines | Organization |
| Approve leave, set holidays, configure leave types | Holiday & Leaves |
| Post or review announcements | Announcement |
| Manage candidates, job listings, and your careers page | Recruitment |
| Run reports | Reports |
| Configure your company, security, and integrations | Settings |
Not sure where something lives? Ask Hera - it can point you to the right page.
